Police believe "All indications say he probably mistook the gas pedal for the brake" as there was no sign of intoxication or known medical condition.

2 stabbed May 31, 2015 Stabbing of non-students at Tufts University Fraternity Two people were stabbed at Tufts University’s Delta Tau Delta fraternity house.  Somerville Deputy Chief Paul Trant said in a news release that police “have a person of interest identified” and there is no threat to the surrounding community. Victims were not associated with the school; however, the crime appears to be non-random and the parties involved are believed to have known each other.

Woodburn police chief injured in bank bombing to retire May 28 2015 Woodburn Police Chief Scott Russell will retire July 1 after 28 years with the department. The Oregonian reports that 53-year-old Russell, who is best known as a victim of the 2008 Woodburn bank bombing, has been chief since 2002. Russell lost his right leg in the 2008 blast that killed 51-year-old William "Bill" Hakim, an Oregon State Police bomb technician, and 51-year-old Tom Tennant, a captain in the Woodburn Police Department.
