  1. 1 killed, suspect beaten by mob, arrested November 19, 2013 In Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Taxi driver Benjamin Alvarez Moncada was shot by a boy not at random, but under orders as a terrorist act from criminals to terrorize drivers who defied demands for protection money. a 15-year-old sidled up to his taxi with a revolver and fired three shots, hitting him in the chest, ear and neck. Then, the boy in a green shirt and baggy pants ambled away as casually as he had arrived. A driver began to shout and took off after the shooter, quickly joined by other bystanders and a policeman. As the boy broke into a run, an onlooker stuck out his leg and tripped him a block from the taxi stand, a witness recounted. The officer grabbed him and returned him to the scene....The extortion began six years ago. Each week, the collective hands an envelope with 5,500 lempiras -- about $260 -- to a boy who collects it on behalf of a criminal ring. ,, Last Thursday this same boy came to the taxi stand and pointed a pistol at the chest of another colleague.   4. Police said a homeowner shot and killed a man who crashed through a gate and broke into his house near Buckley. The shooting happened in rural Pierce County at the corner of 258th Avenue East and 164th Street East about 11 p.m. Monday. Police said the intruder drove intruder drove up the driveway at a high rate of speed, broke through a steel gate, mangling it, and then crashed into a car. The driver then went to the house, pounded on the door, broke some glass and forced his way in.

A campus officer was attacked by a male student at the lobby of a women's-only dorm. The student was shot and killed, and the officer was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment.
