Space Coast Regional Airport is the closest commercial airport to the Kennedy Space Center...  airspace in the surrounding area is also closed. A police dog was also wounded in a stabbing in the attack.

Nov 19 GA suspect escapes from officer who shoots after hitting him with SUV VILLA RICA, GA (CBS46) - Police are looking for a man accused of using a stolen credit card and escaping from a police officer by hitting the officer with an SUV. Thursday night outside a Walmart 33 from  Atlanta. confronted suspect after receiving a call that he was using a stolen credit card. he jumped in the SUV and tried to take off, knocking down the officer and hitting a parked car.

    last time a Downey police officer was killed in the line of duty was nearly 35 years ago. Officer Wayne Richard Presley, a nine-year police veteran, was struck and killed by a drunk driver on April 10, 1981.
