Byron Williams Far Right Terrorist Oakland freeway shootout --- ===

Right wing anti-government racist terrorist, white suspect

July 18, 2010 Byron Williams Far Right Terrorist Oakland freeway shootout Two California Highway Patrol officers on I-580 in Oakland, California, attempted to stop Byron Williams, whose speeding pickup truck was seen on westbound Interstate 580 weaving through traffic. Williams, a multiple-felon, who had previously been convicted twice for bank robbery, was stopped after a CHP officer purportedly observed him weaving at excessive speed on the 580 west bound. Williams yielded near the Harrison Street on ramp. After being approached by the officer, Williams or the officer began firing with a handgun. Williams, who purported to have received a gunshot wound to the back of his head, fired three rounds with his 9mm handgun. As additional CHP officers arrived on scene, more gunfire ensued. Williams then started firing an M1A .308 rifle at the officers. He reloaded the rifle once, firing a total of seven .308 rounds. He was wearing a bulletproof vest which was not impacted during the entire exchange, although the CHP fired a collective 198 rounds from pistols, shotguns, and .223 rifles. Williams did not surrender until he was struck by numerous bullets.  Williams survives the 12-minute shootout, but is struck several times by police bullets; he inflicts minor injuries on two officers

Mock terrorist incident.  The 2010 Oakland freeway shootout occurred on July 18, 2010, when two California Highway Patrol officers on I-580 in Oakland, California, attempted to stop Byron Williams, whose speeding pickup truck was seen on westbound Interstate 580 weaving through traffic. Williams did not surrender until he was struck by numerous bullets.[2] The shootout lasted for 12 minutes. evidence indicated Williams planned to target the San Francisco offices of the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California and the Tides Foundation. Investigators reported Williams told them he wanted to "start a revolution by traveling to San Francisco and killing people of importance at the Tides Foundation and the ACLU." In an interview with Media Matters for America, Williams claimed that he chose the Tides Foundation as a target because he believed that American billionaire philanthropist George Soros "has the Tides Foundation and the Tides fund," which he uses "for all kinds of nefarious activities." While some outlets have suggested a link between right wing rhetoric and the shootout, in an interview with Examiner.com, Williams spoke more about his influences, stating that he felt outlets like Fox News Channel were neglectful when it came to organizations like the Tides Foundation, and cited a variety of websites and outlets as influences, including David Icke and Alex Jones2010 Oakland freeway shootout - Wikipedia  California Shootout Suspect Byron Williams Upset with Congress, Job CBS NewsJul 20, 2010 - Luckily, no one was killed, but Byron Christopher Williams has been placed Trial begins in shootout on I-580 in Oakland - EastBayTimes.com www.eastbaytimes.com Feb 11, 2014 - Byron Williams, the suspect in the CHP shootout on I-580 Saturday, July ... to get hurt or killed," said Herrick, describing how Williams pointed a ... Inside the mind of a man involved in a CHP shooting on Interstate 580 ... abc7news.com  Sep 15, 2010 - The man says he hoped to start a revolution by killing liberal activists and ABC7 obtained tapes of a jailhouse interview with Byron Williams. ... Terror from the Right | Southern Poverty Law Center July 18, 2010 An unemployed parolee with two bank robbery convictions, apparently enraged at liberals and what he sees as the “left-wing agenda” of Congress, allegedly opens fire on California Highway Patrol troopers who pull him over in Oakland. No one is killed, but two troopers are slightly injured and Byron Williams is shot in the arms and legs. Williams allegedly later tells authorities that he was on his way to attack offices of the American Civil Liberties Union and the Tides Foundation, a liberal organization that, although little known to most Americans, has been repeatedly pilloried on air by Fox News host Glenn Beck. In March 2014, a jury convicts Williams of four counts of premeditated attempted murder of a peace officer and three counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

July 21, 2010 Southern Poverty Law Center  Attorney Todd Getgen is shot to death at a gun range in Cumberland County, Penn., and his weapon, a silenced AR-15 rifle, is stolen. Authorities arrest prison guard Raymond Peake nine days later, saying Peake was trying to accumulate weapons for an unnamed organization that intended to overthrow the government. Fellow prison guard Thomas Tuso is also arrested for allegedly helping Peake hide Getgen’s custom-built weapon. Peake is sentenced in 2012 to life in prison. Tuso is sentenced in 2013 to 11 to 23 months in prison.
