      crime: Jan 15, 2017 stabbing Jan 17 update  Suspect in Alderwood Mall stabbing says he acted in self-defense against employee could be with ISIS KOMO News The stabbing, which unfolded at about 2 p.m., left the employee in critical condition with multiple stab wounds near the liver. Suspect made comments about using glove, then knocked items off counter, employee ran out and grabbed suspect who stabbed him 4 times, bystander pulled him off and was also stabbed before handing over knife. Suspect claims he was in fear for his life and remarked employee could have been ISIS terrorist. Lynnwood police quickly arrived and took the suspect into custody.  "When someone attacks from behind, then all bets are off." He also said his response was appropriate because "for all he knew the (employee) could be a member of ISIS." employee went after the suspect initially because he felt threatened threatened by him when he knocked items off the counter
